JJ knits his eyebrows in confusion. “Prioritize my relationships? You mean figuring out who means the most and sticking with them? That’d be Rennie, hands down.” Once upon a time, he said that Liv meant more, but he’s fallen hard for Rennie. He’s been so open and sweet lately. I want to make him mine. Forever. He winces when Pandora mentions hurting more people than he intended, thinking of Liv and Lucy. JJ blushes a little when Panda tells him not to cry. Was it that noticeable? He blinks rapidly, willing the tears back. He clears his throat and says, “Thanks Panda, it really means a lot that you don’t hate me. I think only Freddie understands.” And Claud. “I do not look forward to when Cook finds out about this. He’ll pound me into next week for sure. Freddie wanted to kill him when he shagged Karen. People take siblings seriously. Hard to understand for us onlies, you know?”

“Yeah yeah, that’s exactly what I mean!” Pandora nodded quickly, “And I’m glad you know who that one person you want is…it’s just time to let the others know now.” She took a deep breath. Panda was not always the one you would think of going to for a serious conversation, but she definitely had a lot more to her than weird clothes, funny sayings, and food. Especially when it came to someone she cared so dearly about such as JJ. “I don’t know if I could ever hate you, JJ, it would take an awful lot for me to do that.” She offered him a sweet smile. “I understand…and yeah, I know, us only children have a different outlook on life. I think…we have just never had a bond like siblings do, we can only try to.” Pandora sighed and looked out at the water, letting her mind finally wander to the one place she had been avoiding. Cook. He always seems to be mentioned when I am talking to someone. Although they probably can’t help it, we were all so close at one time. But I still can’t help but think…do some of my old mates do it on purpose?

JJ nods, taking in everything the Pandora said. She looks out into the water with a pensive expression on her face. He lets her have a moment to herself. A few minutes later, he asks, “So what’s been going on with you? School going well? Meet any new people? Have you seen much of Thomas?” He hopes that last question is ok. Thomas and Panda both go to Harvard, so it’s possible they’ve seen each other. But JJ isn’t aware of how civil their relationship, or lack thereof, is since they left it on bad terms. Even if she hates him, I miss Thomas. He brings light to everything, kind of like Panda. It’s probably why they got together in the first place. And donuts, can’t forget the donuts.
